Dear Heavenly Father, You are Holy and perfect. You know exactly what You intend to do. You know how You plan to use those in office. You know how You plan to use the citizens of this country. You know how You plan to use Your children. You know Your plans for the church; and how You’ll sift it. You also know how the enemy plans to sow his seed.

And though we may have a slight clue as to how things are unfolding… whether that’s due to our knowledge of Scripture, or the innate understanding granted to us via the Holy Spirit… we could never know what You know.

Please help us to trust You, Lord. Help us to stay focused on our mission of spreading the Gospel. Help us to remember that “all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Help us to lift our concerns to You so that You may shoulder our heavy emotions and set us back on our path, clear-minded.

Please protect us from the enemy who we know is seeking to sow division and discord. Please let us resist the temptation to engage in idle conversation or arguments. Let us resist the temptation to reciprocate attacks or behave in ways that are sinful. Please help us to care about our purpose more than we care about our pride. Please help us to be the light You’ve called us to be, in Christ Jesus.

Please protect our president. Please give those who do not support him, continued fresh ears to hear him so that they may listen without clouded judgment. Please give those who do support him, continued fresh ears to hear him so that they do not make an idol of him. Please help him to do Your will in all the ways that You intend; whether we are in complete agreement or not. “All things work together.”

Please allow all of our country’s leaders – past and present – to have an encounter with You, if they are not already in Christ. Please continue to guide them if they are.

Please allow Believers to stand firm while operating with respect and tact. Please let us always be seeking guidance and understanding from You. Help us to be discerning and please strengthen our prayer life.

And please protect the citizens of the United States of America. Please let every single soul living in this country experience a moment of undeniable and irresistible peace; and let them attribute it to You and You alone. Please let that moment serve as an opportunity for them to give their life to Christ. Please draw every soul that You intend to draw, and please let them accept Your call.

Thank You God for protecting us – now and always.
