I will continually update this page with phrases as I recall them, or as they’re brought to my attention. A lot of times, deception is subtle.
Some of these statements can seem well-intended, but are made wrong by the context in which they’re preached. I will try to clarify why certain statements can be problematic.
“You get what you give.”
“When you don’t know what to do, do the last thing God told you to do.”
“You haven’t seen your blessing yet because you’re lacking faith (or because of your fear).”
“If you’ve never doubted God, you’re not telling the truth. We all doubt God at some point.”
