Prayer:

Dear God, You are an amazing Father and I am so grateful that You continue to draw me near. I thank You for placing in me the desire to seek You. Please help me glean from Your word, enjoy Your word, learn from Your word and seek understanding. Please help me to carry out Your purpose for my life: to spread the Gospel of Christ. And help to me live out Your ultimate command, which is to love. I pray that You allow the Holy Spirit to guide my understanding; and that I do not lean on my own understanding. I pray that I become, and remain, excited about sharing Your word. As I grow in faith, I pray that I remain humble in my spirit so that I don’t become self-righteous. I pray that You sift – and help me to discern – any word received from a pastor, Bible study leader or fellow Believer. Please let only those words that are truly from You stick in my spirit. And finally, please allow me to be convicted by You and You, alone – so that I am stable in my understanding, yet open to proper correction as You bring it forth. Thank You, God. In Christ’s name. Amen. Praise the Lord.
